Prayer for Nepal
Buddhist Organizations arranged the Ceremonies of Chanting the Buddha’s Mantra, Lighting Lanterns of Peace for Nepalese Victims
At 4:00 p.m. on May 20th, 2015 in Nepal, the Thai–Indian–Nepalese Buddhist Missionaries, Dhammakaya Foundation and the International Buddhist Organizations arranged the Ceremonies of Chanting “Prayer for Nepal,” lighting lanterns of peace and circumambulating to worship Savayambhuvanart Cetiya and meditate at the court of Savayambhuvanart Cetiya ascent for peace in Nepal. The Most Venerable Phrathepbodhividesa, head of Thai–Indian–Nepal Buddhist Missionaries and Abbot of Wat Thai Lumpini, was the Monastic President.
Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong, President of the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (“WFBY”), revealed that the ceremony was held to create peacefulness for the earthquake victims in Nepal and to encourage them to live by applying Dharma. Over 200 Thai monks, Theravada Nepalese monks and Mahayana monks as well as Phra-Ani (Female Lama), American Tibetan female monks and many more Buddhists participated in this ceremony.
